about his Dad's passing when he was 10.

Willie Nelson released his version of this classic in 1978.

This song became Neil Diamond's 30th Top 40 Hit, also released

in 1978.

"Stay for just a while,

Stay and let me look at you"

Cash Box called it a lushly orchestrated ballad that builds

from a simple piano to a full blown chorus. This is "September Morn"

As the summer fades into our memory, and another fall enters our

lives - "September grass" is the sweetest kind, It goes down easy like

apple wine. Hope you don't mind if I pour you some.

This was on Fiona Apple's debut album in 1966. The lyrics

of this one dealing with loss, acceptance and new hope.

This is "Pale September"

You can't have a list of month 9 songs without the Chairman of the

Board, Frank Sinatra with "The September of My Years."

It was released as a studio album by Frank in 1965.

This song was introduced in the 1937 film, Melody for Two.

The Beatles, Bing Crosby, Doris Day, Peggy Lee and Norah Jones

are just a few of artists who covered this one. She played piano in

her school choir, this is the legendary Dinah Washington with

"September in the Rain"

Now it's time for the Maestro, Barry White and his orchestra

from 1982 in Brazil. This is "September, when I first met you"
